Book Obession!

I really fell in love with reading in about the 5th or 6th grade, I have never been a fast reader (I tend to read every word on the page). I learned to read with the help of my oldest sister, Teresa, and a Berenstain Bears book at the age of 5, I was in Kindergarten. I remember curling up next to Tee-Tee in the evenings with our book  in our dad's red recliner and her helping me to sound out words and to recognize them. And since then a few books and authors have stood out over the years:

- The Chocolate Touch
- The Harry Potter series (though I never finished Book 7 = shame)
- Pride & Prejudice
- V.C. Andrews (author)
- Jane Green (author)
- The Godfather
- The Time Traveller's Wife
- The Twilight Saga
And I just recently finished The Hunger Games Trilogy (AMAZING)! I can't wait for the movie (3/24/12)!
Now, I know there are a lot of great books out there that I haven't read. When I read, I read for pleasure and entertainment, not to really make me think too hard!!

Do you have a love of reading too? What has been your favorite book? Any suggestions?

Sad Day...

So my post last week about possibly adding to our family has been halted! We both got freaked out and decided that for now we like just the two of us and with the money up front that a pet would cost us, we could do a lot more for our home! Ugh being a grown up sucks sometimes!

But we did the responsible thing and really sat down and thought it through! Plus we want to take a trip for our anniversary this November and would prefer not to have a dog to try and find somewhere for it to stay or take with us. So, we decided that we might revisit this whole addition thing next year!

I am sad but I freaked out! I've only ever had outside pets and living in the city would mean having an in-door pet, which I'm not sure I'm ready for just yet!

Adding to the Family…

There comes a time in every couple’s life when they are faced with a decision: when should just us two become a three-some?
Jon and I have been going back and forth on this for a while now. There are several questions and factors that need to be taken into account.

-What will this cost us (both up-front and down the road)? Can we afford this?

- What are we willing to give up for this? New furniture? Vacations? Me-time?

- And finally, big dog vs. little dog?

You honestly didn’t think I was talking about a baby, did you? I won’t hold it against you if you did because that was how this was idea was started. It seems like we have reached the point where it’s either have a baby or get a puppy! And it seems almost all of the couples we know have one or the other or both!

Jon finally saw reason and has agreed to go for a smaller dog (20-40 lbs.). Reasons include, I will be spending the most time with the pooch and I want a smaller dog that I can handle more easily in a full grown lab (Jon’s topic pick). However, it seems that our local shelters only have large dogs that are young and older smaller dogs.
And now I’m starting to panic! Do we really want to do this? I could get a lot of furniture and housewares for what this will end up costing us!

What do you all think? Is getting a dog a good idea? Any suggestions on breeds?

Spring is Coming

Spring is Coming
This is how I would "color-block"! I love plain, solid's mostly so this has been great! I choose a natural bag because I love my bags to be verstile with colors so I can get the most use out of them. I do believe in putting money into good shoes and bags because they are the only things in fashion besides jewerly that you never out grow!

The Stalker-book Issue

Stalker-I mean Facebook's latest layout change! If you have been around the last 8 or so years and have used a computer and are reading this blog then you at least know about Facebook, even if you don't use it (which you truly should)! I heart Facebook....most of the time! But over the past few years, I've notice that it really annoys me for the following reasons:

1. The constant layout upgrades! Seriously, I believe that in the last year there have been like 2 or 3 changes to the NewsFeed and my profile! Just Stop already! You change, I get mad, I get over my anger and get used to the new layout and BAM! You change again....WTFreak? (anger in uses, I get over the anger and upgrade)

2. Limited name changes: I have learned that Facebook limits how many times you are allowed to change your name. I have changed my name twice, since getting it in Spring 2006. Once, to add my nickname because my friends forgot my real name in college and the last time when I got married in November 2010. I hyphenated my new last name to my maiden name to transition for a few months and now I am stuck with the hyphenated version! I legally do not have a hyphenation, I dropped my maiden name. WTFreak? (anger in uses, Not getting over this because I hate when people use the hyphenated name for me because its not legally my name)

3. Defriendings: I am a self-proclaimed Facebook Stalker, if I don't know you but want to know you, I will find you and stalk what info I can from your limited profile! But to me there is no bigger slap in the "facebook" then when I go to creep on ya and you have defriended me! I creep because I care (or secretly hate you and want ammo to use). (anger in uses, I get over it and stalk your limited profile)

But seriously, as much as we all complain about Facebook we are all just stalking/creeping and deep down we love it and will continue to be addicted!

And as a reminder, I will hunt you and I will find you on Stalker-book!

Pst: Please "like" me! Or just vent out what annoys you about Stalker-book and why you love it at the same time!
